The 2 stories in this book are reprints of previously published stories by Debbie Macomber. They are both "tear jerkers." I liked the 1st story, "Father's Day," much better than the 2nd story, "The Courtship of Carol Sommars." I would give "Father's Day" 5 stars and "The Courtship of Carol Sommars" 3 stars. The characters are endearing and likeable (especially in "Father's Day.") "The Courtship of Carol Sommars" just seemed to go on too long. I just wanted it to "be over already!" Also, I felt that the male character in this story, Alex, was not well developed, and therefore difficult to "care about." In both stories, widows with teenage sons (ages 11 and 16, respectively) find love with widowers. In both cases, the women have trouble accepting the love, but for different reasons. Overall, I recommend this book, especially for Debby Macomber fans who may not have read these stories.Product details

I enjoyed it very much as it had passion in , romance and the author had your so much into it that it was hard to put down
Debbie Macomber is brilliant. Her character are so relatable just like the title of her book, Right Next Door.
As usual, Debbie Macomber warms the hearts of her readers as she expertly knits her characters and intertwines their lives. She dangles enough suspense and romance to advance the story steadily, making an easy read of both novellas.
I enjoy all of Debbie Macomber's books. They can be read in an afternoon, which helps when you have other things that need to be done around the house. I always hate for them to end and definitely look forward to her next editions.
I always enjoy Debbie Macomber's writing. She has the ability to put you right in the middle of a busy, boisterious family. The profile of the boy in the story, 'Right Next Door' couldn't be more right on! You begin to care about the family right from the beginning.
I enjoyed this book, I like pretty much any Debbie Macomber Books
tends to lead the reader on a wonderful journey of ups and downs,
that leads to romance and always the "Happy ending "

Right Next Door is a humorous, charming study in true love the second time around. The book is really two mini-books Father's Day and The Courtship of Carol Sommars bundled into one. Both feature blossoming love between neighbors, overcoming the lose of a spouse, painful first relationships, the helpful friend/family member, and the challenge of conducting a romantic relationship in front of one's children. The children and the reality of daily life are what make these two stories such a refreshing delight. Debbie Macomber's humor and realistic conversations draw you in as if you were a fly on the wall, watching the story unfold.
