Well written account of a sensitive subject! Kudos!
Cheryl King's insightful book relates a journey toward wholeness in sexuality and intimacy. Beyond that, it helps the reader get in touch with one's own personal journey. Some of our most important needs and greatest experiences in life are hidden or diminished. This book tells us that transformation is within our grasp.
I always love reading about people who are making a difference in the world, especially a difference for an area that is so important in our society. Cheryl skillfully navigates how she accomplishes this for people who desperately need it around sexuality.
A gifted healer of the heart, mind, body and soul, Cheryl King has the ability to sense others on many different levels. She is a great listener, and responds with warmth, compassion, and a refreshing playfulness. Deeply empathic, Cheryl creates a place of safety that helps her clients to express their wants and desires, their conflicts and fears. From there, she gently guides them from the places they may feel stuck into those parts of themselves that have been longing to live and find expression. In "The Touch of Love," Cheryl King shows us the tremendous power of heart-felt compassion and intimacy to heal not only the body, but the heart and soul, as well. I highly recommend it.
This book is an amazing introduction to, and examination of, Surrogate Partner Therapy. I find that in part, her book functions as a readable guild to the art of SPT. But more than that Cheryl King is giving us an intimate and personal story. We, as readers, are invited into the Surrogate Partner Therapy process as it unfolds between Cheryl and her fictional client, James. There is tenderness, vulnerability on both sides, and though educational, the story flows with ease and unpretentiousness. This book gives insight into many parts of a profession that is little understood. I am grateful that Cheryl has given us this gift.
